American Legal History II

1.    What was similar about the Supreme Court's decisions in the Civil Rights Cases, US v. Cruikshank, and US v. Harris?

2.  Define substantive and procedural due process.  Use cases discussed this week to show how the court has helped interpret each principle (use one case for each principle).

3.  Out of the cases discussed, at what point did the judicial interpretation of the Equal Protection clause live up to the hopes of the original intent of the clause? (USE two cases in your response.)
