This week you turn your attention to workplace shootings. On April 15, 2021, at 10:54 p.m. Brandon Scott Hole went to a FedEx ground facility where he worked the year before. It is located near the airport in Indianapolis. A majority of workers were taking and/or transitioning during a shift change. He went to a security officer first and had a "normal" conversation and then he went back to his car, telling the officer he was getting his work ID. Once there, he took out a gun and started shooting while in possession of two rifles. He made his way to the entrance of the facility, went in, and kept shooting. He went back to the parking lot and shot more people. Eight people died. FedEx then had a no-phone policy. After the event, many complained that help might have arrived earlier if they had their phones. Regardless, Hole made his way to the back of the facility. It had been only four minutes since the event started. That probably was not enough time for external response to neutralize the perpetrator. The video at the link below is the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and FBI "Final Report." What does the report indicate? Give me specifics, such as the name of the FBI unit that worked up the perpetrator profile, what the summary on the shooter indicated about him, and any points on motive (or lack thereof). Based on the link underneath the video, or using your own research, did the report leave anything pertinent out? Perhaps something that relates to another mass shooting you already examined for this class? How does any of it fit the workplace shooting information you read for this week? What does not fit? Finally, what is your interpretation of this press conference? Include points on what is good about it and/or bad about it.
