Management BUS 497A 

You are expected to determine how your team will function in BUS 497A 449 the remainder of this semester. This will take the form of developing a team charter. Key elements to cover in your team charter are the team’s mission, goals, and operating guidelines. 

Additional items and questions you are to consider and address are: 

• What do we want to accomplish? 
• What are our deliverables? 
• What is the timing for all of our deliverables? How will we track and measure our      progress to deliverables?
• Do we need a team leader?
• How will we incorporate feedback along the way (from      fellow students, from instructor)? How will we deal with process improvement?
• How/when will we schedule meetings? How often will we meet?
• What form of attendance is acceptable for team meetings?
• What do we want to accomplish at meetings?
• Is it important to document team meetings? If so, how will team meetings be      documented?
• How will we decide how team tasks get accomplished? What are all the team tasks?
• How will we communicate with each other? With the instructor?
• How can we capitalize on strengths of team members? What are those strengths? How will we all know what those are?
• How will we make sure everyone is contributing to team      effort/deliverables? What will we do if we have reason to believe a team      member’s contribution has been plagiarized? 
• How will we hold team members accountable? What will we do if everyone is not      carrying their load and contributing? (social loafing)
• How will we deal with disagreements?
• How will we handle last minute changes in our      presentations?
• How will we recognize and celebrate our accomplishments?

You are expected to prepare and submit your team charter along with comments addressing bulleted items above that you believe are important to your team functioning efficiently, productively, and harmoniously. While you are not expected to address every bulleted item above you are expected, as a team, to select items you believe reflect who you are as a team. Your charter will be evaluated on how thorough your process for developing the charter is as well as your completed written submission. Your submission is to be word processed and double spaced, two pages in length (using 12 point Times New Roman font) and have one inch margins on all four edges. Your submission is due March 1, 2016.
