Is increased production (raw materials, agriculture, manufacturing and industry, etc.) necessary to American economic recovery, or can the country prosper with a predominantly "service economy"?  Is it possible to regain a favorable balance of trade in the twenty-first century while addressing such issues as fair wages and environmental protection?
