Wright and Ellison Critical Response

Using Wright and Ellison, address masking and the systemic emasculation of African American men. How do the characters challenge or succumb to the challenges?  How do they define black masculinity while operating within Jim Crow Laws?  You must make specific, not general, references to each text.
