Active Assailant

 From the FBI studies of active assailant attacks, it is clear that these types of attacks are happening more often than ever before.  Examine the FBI study in the readings.  Why do you think these types of attacks are occurring more often?  What can we do to prevent these types of attacks from occurring in the first place?  Do the perpetrators have specific characteristics and motivations?  Are law enforcement responses being effective in stopping these in-progress attacks?
