Part 1: Write a Professional Email

Scenario: You need to email a professor to ask a question about an assignment or to request a meeting.

Your Task: Write a short, polite email using the tips below:

Your email must include:

1. Subject line – Write a short title that tells what the email is about ➤ Example: “Question About Homework Due Friday”

2. Greeting – Begin with a respectful greeting ➤ Example: “Dear Ms. Garcia,” or “Hello Prof. Littles,”

3. Body of the email – Politely explain:

· Who you are (include your name and class)

· Why you’re writing (what question or request do you have?)

· Ask clearly and politely

4. Closing and Signature – End the email nicely ➤ Example: “Thank you,” ➤ Your full name at the bottom

 

Part 2: Reply Like a Teacher

Now pretend you’re the teacher and write a short, polite reply to your original email.

Your reply should:

· Answer the student’s question clearly

· Use a polite tone

· Keep it short and helpful

 

Part 3: Quick Reflection

In 3–5 sentences per question, explain:

· Why is it important to be polite and professional in an email?

· What is one thing you should not include in a professional email?

Assignment 2

Here are some questions to consider as you craft your definition:

How do you know you have succeeded? What do you use to measure this?

After viewing the TED Talk " Embrace the Shake", write a 3-2-1 reflection using the following guidelines.

Write a well-developed paragraph (5-8 sentences), including these components:

3: Include three feelings or emotions you experienced during the video.

2: Include two moments, ideas, quotes, or visuals that struck a reaction or "aha" moment in you.

1: Include one "shake" (setback) that you have turned into a positive or can turn into a positive in your life.

Assignment 6

In a well-developed paragraph, address these questions: (5-7 sentences)

· What did you already know about information literacy and disinformation before you watched this week’s videos? 

·  After watching the videos, reflect on what you learned that you did not know before.

·  What are some steps you will take in the future to avoid being persuaded by misinformation?

· Share an example of something you have seen on the internet in the past two weeks that you questioned. What made you suspicious? What did you do to either verify it or discredit it?
