A bicycle producer manufactures two types of bicycles, the Roadster and the Speedster. Each bicycle must pass through the assembly stage and finishing stages of production. If the assembly department were completely devoted to assembling Roadsters, 100 per day could be assembled. On the other hand, if the assembly department were completely devoted to assembling Speedsters, 90 per day could be assembled. If the finishing department were completely devoted to finishing Roadsters, 150 per day could be finished. On the other hand, if the finishing department were completely devoted to finishing Speedsters, 135 per day could be finished. Each Roadster produced and sold contributes $60 to profit, whereas each Speedster produced and sold contributes $100 to profit. Assume that this bicycle producer can currently sell every bicycle that it manufactures in a day. This company wants to use linear programming to determine a daily production plan that maximizes total profit. Construct and solve an appropriate linear programming model for this problem.
