You are an administrator for an early childhood program, and you plan to develop a parent PowerPoint presentation for Meet-the-Teacher Night that explains how your program meets the needs of children. Reflect on what you have learned about early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices and family, school, and community partnerships.
State the driving philosophy behind your program and focus on how it is developmentally appropriate. Think about who your target audience is and how your topic affects them. Consider some of the following elements in your presentation:
- Rigid/flexible planning
- Play
- Whole/small group
- Cooperative learning
- Multiple intelligences theory
- Field trips
- Technology
- Family involvement
Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as “speaker notes” for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.
Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
Length: 10-15 slides (with a separate reference slide).
Notes Length: 50-100 words for each slide.
Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your presentation should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards where appropriate. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
