The primary figures in the films and podcasts we're encountered since Week 10 (How to Survive a Plague, Muxes, Tangerine, The Big House) represent a wide range of subjects/perspectives across gender, race, ethnic, class, age, and dis/ability lines. 

In this essay explore the ways in which violence is used to control (via law, intimidation, threats, rape, murder, etc.) the expression of sexuality, the performance of gender, and the lives of women, LGBTQ, and people of other minority groups. Be sure to address some examples of how space and place function as both a tool of violence and a vehicle for escape. 

Write a 600-word essay that analyze issues raised in the films, podcasts, and readings covered during Weeks 10-12.
