1) The child assessment cycle includes various stages. While all stages are important for intentional teaching to occur, opinions vary on whether one stage is more critical than any other stage. Which of the stages do you believe is the most important for ensuring intentional teaching and improving child outcomes? Why?
2) There is a great deal of emphasis on developmentally appropriate practice when it comes to assessing young children. Most early childhood professionals agree that assessments should be developmentally appropriate in both content and the method of data collection. How would you know if your selected assessment tool or criteria was not developmentally appropriate for one of your students, and what could you do about it?
