Dear Camden Resident,

We want to provide you with an important update on the Camden Cares Resident Relief Fund. On April 2, 2020, we announced that Camden Property Trust would be providing financial assistance to our residents who suffered job or income loss resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The $5 million Fund was made available to residents who submitted a qualified application on a first-come, first-serve basis with a maximum grant per home of $2,000. Of the applications received, we approved and delivered funds to 2,366 Camden residents with a total dollar value of $4,540,000. The amount granted to date was less than Camden’s $5 million commitment for two reasons. First, some applicants requested less than the $2,000 maximum – bravo to these residents, as they have allowed us to help more of our residents and your neighbors. Second, after carefully reviewing the applications submitted, some were denied because they did not meet the qualifications. As a result, a balance of $460,000 remains in the Fund which, in keeping with our pledge of $5 million in assistance, will be distributed to assist additional residents.  

A minimum of $460,000 will be distributed equally to all qualified residents who submit a timely application demonstrating loss of income and otherwise complying with the other eligibility requirements set forth below.

The website, CamdenCaresResidentRelief.com, will be activated again on Monday, April 20 at 1:00pm CDT and remain open for 30 minutes to accept new submissions between 1:00pm – 1:30pm CDT (2:00pm – 2:30 EDT; 12:00pm – 12:30pm MDT; 11:00am – 11:30am PDT).  At 1:30pm CDT (2:30pm EDT; 12:30pm MDT; 11:30am PDT), the site will be taken offline and we will no longer accept applications, so be sure to complete your application and click submit prior to the deadline. Applicants will need to describe their financial hardship in 500 characters or less.

As with the last round of assistance, your onsite teams are not overseeing or involved in this process. We have a Camden Team mobilized in Houston, Texas responsible for handling verification and distribution. Please allow up to 10 days for this team to review all submissions.
