 You have been hired as the jail administrator of a 200 bed corrections facility in a small mid-western community. It is a brand new facility which is replacing a facility which had many issues including overcrowding, several assaults/rapes and two suicides in the past two years. The former administrator retired prior to the completion of the new jail's opening. There has been little management of the corrections environment for the past six months. The County Commission, to whom you will report, wants to see your plans for taking over and effectively and efficiently managing (directing) this new facility. You must make a presentation before the commissioners explaining what you are going to do to bring this facility on line and reduce the problems the corrections department has experienced in the past.
