(I think 8-5 is really challenging, I’d love to have someone explain question 5 on In the Classroom 8-5.) Go to http://nlvm.usu.edu, click on Numbers and Operations prek-2 and try out Base Blocks, Base Blocks Addition, Base Blocks Subtraction, Hundreds Chart. Share-What was reinforced? What ideas did I connect with? What questions do I have?

3. Select one of the four characteristics of our number system and make a visual representation of it. OR Show how 201 and 120 would be represented with three different place-value models (concrete physical models, semiconcrete organizational models, symbolic representational models). This could be done electronically using Word Art, clip  art, in a ppt slide, hand drawn and a photo taken and uploaded, models made with objects from home and then a photo taken and uploaded or however your genius allows-as long as you can share it with us.
