4 pages essay/ anthropology

our essay should be 4 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt. font and 1"margins). Grading criteria include: focus, comprehension and integration of course concepts and ideas, clarity, correct grammar, originality, and complexity of ideas.  Papers should reflect your reading of the text as well as other sources in and out of class: lectures, films, newspapers, journals, discussions, blogs, etc. Use at least 3 sources. Be sure to cite all sources from texts, websites, or readings.  Direct quotes should be noted both in text (author: page, date) and in a bibliography using any consistent standardized format.

The U.S. leads the world in many respects, but it lags behind many other developed countries in terms of worker benefits (minimum wage, paid vacation, medical coverage), minority and women’s rights (religious rights, maternal leave, E.R.A. etc.), educational opportunities for all, and environmental care.  Choosing one of these topics, using examples and evidence from in and out of class, explain why you think this is.
