1. Please write your direct quotation with the citation information for the article including the authors, title, and the quotation in quotation marks:

example.: According to Claude Steele's book, Whistling Vivaldi, "Identity contingencies are circumstances you have to deal with to get what you want or need in a situation" (3).  

2. Taking the original quotation you've chosen for #1, please convert your direct quotation to a paraphrase now, still making sure to cite the authors, the title of the article, then the information from the text:

example: In Claude Steele's book, Whistling Vivaldi, he argues that "identity contingencies" are things people have to endure to acquire what they need or even want in a given situation (3). 

3. Now that you know how to use quotations as direct quotations and paraphrase format, please provide commentary and analysis for the information you've chosen, which you would have to provide for either option you use in your body paragraphs.
