• With reference to the films Monsoon Wedding and Pink and based on the readings by Jenny Sharpe Actionsand Pratiksha MenonActions, discuss how the two films subvert the "myth of the nation."
  • Explanation: Think about how these films refuse to idealize people or the nation or to hold them to an imaginary yardstick of Indianness based on notions of chastity  or purity. This means, how do these films challenge the ways in which mainstream cinema portrays sexually chaste or pure women as imagined by a traditional India.
