Research shows how important it is to provide adequate support to victims of trauma, and despite this important body of research, access to quality victim support and services remains challenging in many areas. For this discussion, conduct an inventory of the victim support services that are available in your local community.

1. Research the victim support services available in your local community. 

2. Create an inventory of the local services provided to victims. This inventory should include the following: 

• Name of the provider 
• Hours of operation 
• Methods of contact 
• Types of services

3. Share your inventory with your classmates and share your assessment of how well these services meet the needs of victims in your community. 

4. In replying to classmates, share your opinion on how the services in their local community compare with the services in your own. Consider what additional services could be added to your local community and why.
