Our learning this week is on the political landscape.  We distinguished between Liberal Democracies, Anacrocies, and Totalitarianism.

Here are two articles that appeared in the recent press.  Apply your learning on political regimes to these situations these unfamiliar situations to our Western mindset.  Why are these controls necessary?  To what end?

Additionally, what are your perspectives on the rise and fall of nations as discussed by Paul Kennedy and R. Sharma?
