 2. Visit a major toy store and look for evidence of the social category of gender. What sorts of toys are marketed for boys or for girls? How might these toys mediate children’s behavior? Make sure to describe a number of the toys and how they are meant to be engaged with in detail. Also make sure to give specifics about how they are marketed in terms of packaging and also in terms of advertising (if you’ve seen how they are advertised).
