Severe conflicts can have serious repercussions for an
organization (Samanta & Lamprakis, 2018).
Leaders play an integral role to effectively implement
conflict management strategies
SUMMARY OF CONFLICT
SITUATION
A conflict situation arose when a new employee joined a
project team and failed to interact with others about his
specific roles and responsibilities. Thus he failed to
understand what the team expected from him and led to
work disruption.
RESPONSE OF LEADERS
When the conflict arose, the leaders in the group setting played a key role.
The team leader created an effective engagement model so that all the
members could openly interact.
The leadership style played a key role and helped the entire team to achieve
the objective.
LEADERSHIP THEORY
Transactional leadership model was employed to manage
the conflict (Andrus, Priscilla & Yazdanifard, Assc. Prof. Dr.
Rashad, 2013)
Max Weber coined the leadership theory.
The leadership approach encouraged the members to
complement each other’s work and accomplish the
common goals (Samanta & Lamprakis, 2018).
CONTRIBUTION OF LEADERS TO
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Leaders can play a vital role to manage conflicting situations
in team setting.
In order to strengthen the team rapport, the team leader
played a key role.
He ultimately guided the team members to operate
cohesively.
