The snipping tool is a great tool to use to screenshot information , this can be a very
helpful tool because you can screenshot anything you need any information you may
forget in the future , you can screenshot it and save it for later, this can be a great
study advantage and it makes things so much easier instead of complicating things.
Pagefile.sys is basically an alternative way to save stuff instead of saving everything
on the hard drive it saves it as ram.Microsoft and the snippet both are very helpful
resourceful website anybody having issues can surely find a solution by browsing the
web page. Starting with Windows 10 Snipping Tool to help take screen shots of your
Windows desktop. I can see how this tool can be useful when documenting computer
problems and solutions. This tool has been used often all throughout our learning
experience. It has been used in our books as examples and even in labs and quizzes.
It can be extremely helpful just by the thought you do not have to go into description
on what the screen should look like you can just visually see what the screen looks
like. When opening Get Help on my computer I got to Microsoft' virtual agent. Then
from there I typed in how to access and use the snipping tool. It then asked what I
wanted to do and I selected Open Snipping Tool and take a screenshot. It then asked
me which way mouse and keyboard or keyboard? I then I clicked mouse and
keyboard . It then showed me step by step directions on how to access it also while
having its own screen shot as an example. I did this while also continuing to fallow
the rest of the discussion questions directions. What bothered me the most is that it
never included how to access it easier or faster like through the Windows button Shift
and S. I then use the link to access Microsoft to find and print instructions on fixing
problem when installing Windows 10. The snipping tool is a good for help cropping
and cleaning up screen of your desktop screen. Sometimes people use this when they
can not download a file or image. The purpose of the file Pagefile.sys is to basically
how it can take virtual data which can takes up space on a hard drive but instead of
adding to the hard drive it converts into RAM which can take up less space. The
source i used is understanding at but i after a reading it can get confusing which can
cause misinformation or a misunderstanding. he website where i found my information
is https://kb.iu.edu/d/acwa, this website was informative but very detailed. Users
consider the Microsoft website to be the best source of information cause it talks
about the exactly which operating systems the user is using . I believe that sources of
information can be very misleading because as it tries to break down the most
simplies thing so the reader can understand or if the source is very detailed the reader
could get lose trying to put the pieces together. The snipping tool is something really
useful I never really knew I could do without a third party application. I have always
used this app I installed called "Gayzo" to take snip its of my screen without taking
a screenshot of the whole page.I decided to use a different website other than
Microsoft to compare their answer on what the purpose of the pagefile.sys file is. I
decided to make sure I stayed on an official "edu" website which enhances its
credibility. I believe most people would opt to go to Microsoft because, it is well
known, trusted, and creates most of our products we use today. Typically the
manufactures know the best about their products! According to the Indiana University
page, a pagefile.sys file is "how windows NT handles virtual memory using demand
paging." (Indiana Unversity, 2018) It essentially allows pages to run/run faster even
when the physical memory is capped out. I had only heard about the snippet tool, but
never have I tried to use it. After learning about how to find it, I tried accessing it.
As I have Windows 8, I was able to find the snippet tool by typing Help and
Support in the start screen. After using the tool for the first time, I was able to
understand its usefulness in documenting different computer problems as well as
solutions.I got to learn about the purpose of pagefile.sys file from the Microsoft
Support website. It is actually a system file that provides a virtual memory in order to
assist the RAM and ensure that all the pages open faster (What is the purpose of the
pagefile.sys file, 2019). In the situations, when the physical memory has exceeded its
limits, the pagefile.sys file comes to help. It enables users to keep running different
tasks. While shutting down the system, clearing the pagefile.sys file can help in
enhancing the overall performance of the system.
In order to gain information related to pagefile.sys file, most people prefer using the
pagefile.sys file. It is considered to be the best source of information because it is a
credible source, and all the information available is highly reliable. For different
information related to Microsoft, people can rely on the Microsoft website. Using
windows 10 i was able to figure out how to use the snipping tool. It took me a little
bit to figure out the way to get to it, but once I found out how to open it I felt silly
for taking so long to learn how to do it in the first place. Now that i know how to
open the tool i will use it often. I'm always wishing i could take a screenshot of
something interesting i found to show friends later without having to send them a link
and them trying to pinpoint the interesting part of the article. The support article that
i chose about installing windows was making sure that you had enough space on the
disk for the upgrade to windows 10. An easy thing to overlook, but i will be sure to
keep an eye out for it. After doing some research i found that pagefile.sys was
created to handle virtual memory, it increases performance but can cause issues with
RAM. It may require more ram than a system can provide. I have windows 10 and
can find the snippet tool by typing it in the search box on my task bar and found out
that by holding the Windows logo key+Shift+S is also a way to access the tool. I use
the snipping tool from time to time and its very easy to use and helps me when I am
not able to take notes I can save and quickly go back to find and open the contents
so I can see how it can be useful documenting computers problems and solutions. The
article that I found on the Microsoft Support for windows support ask that if you run
into any common problems fixes can be found at troubleshoot problems and updating
the window you are installing or updating or use the fix windows update issues for
steps getting through the troubleshooting process.I found and learned the purpose for
pagefile.sys file on the Microsoft support website. I learned that pagefile.sys is a
system file that allows running task when the physical memory has been exceeded.
Cleaning the pagefile.sys at system shutdown increases the performance of the system.
I think that people consider the microsoft website the best source for information
about pagefile.sys file because it is a credible website for various Microsoft needs. n
Issue I chose to search in Microsoft support was after I upgraded some hardware in
my computer and was having a difficult time getting windows to authenticate. I
replaced almost everything on my computer except for the Hard drive and SSD. For
some reason I always thought since windows was the on the same drive it would
continue to work! I was wrong and learned that if you were upgrading your computer
and you changed your motherboard windows you would have to re-authenticate.
Windows will save your product key with your Microsoft account so that made the
process much easier. I did however run into issues with the automated system
windows has to reactivate the keys key. As usually go to the Microsoft support and
they will take care of it. Forums are always a great way to learn what other options
you have and what people have done to fix issues they've had with windows. I am
pretty familiar with Windows 7 as it is my favorite version of windows to date.
However I recently experienced an issue with my windows 10 repeatedly failing to
update. Pagefile in Windows 10 is a hidden system file with the . SYS extension that
is stored on your computer's system drive (usually C:\). The Pagefile allows the
computer to perform smoothly by reducing the workload of the physical memory, or
RAM. ... Managing the Pagefile size manually in Windows 10 is simple. My
understanding from the above message is that the pagefile.sys helps the computer to
run smoother by helping the RAM with its workload. While it is something that one
could consider important it is not necessary and can be deleted if one needs to clear
up space. Lastly I think that the microsoft website is the best source of information as
it is a file that is only available for windows computers. Today I learned how to use
the snipping tool. I have heard about it but I have never used it before. Thanks to
this discussion. I now know how to get to and use the snipping tool. It did not take
me long to find out where it was. Was kind of taken back by my curser turning into
a blue dot. After figuring that out. I got a good handle on it.About the pagefile.sys
file, its virtual ram that Microsoft uses. Before today, I did not know it anything
about the pagefile. After today, I am going to investigate it more to see what more I
can find out about it.Looking into problems and issue with Microsoft, I found out that
linking your Microsoft account with your windows 10 license will make it easier to
change hardware. Which has been a question of mine for a good amount of time.
Also, thanks to being on there support page and looking around. Found out that
windows don’t support windows 10 mobile anymore. Meaning, they ended their line
of mobile phones. Which really is a let down. I was planning to switch to a windows
phone next year. Since I have had both android and IOS. Wanted to see if windows
phones would be a good alternative. Thanks to this discussion. I now know that is
now off the table. What does everyone else think about Microsoft discontinuing the
windows phone line?. I was presented with the Windows Virtual Agent, which I
found to be very helpful compared to what was on previous versions of Windows.
I've seen other websites utilize chats with virtual agents instead of having a traditional
FAQ page. I simply stated to the virtual agent, "I would like some information about
the Snipping Tool" and I was presented with some options. I selected "Open Snipping
Tool and take a screenshot". Afterwards, I received instructions on opening the tool to
take a screenshot. I typically use the Print Screen key to take a screenshot, or
Command+Shift+3 on a Mac, but I have used the Snipping Tool when working at call
centers. I personally use the Snipping Tool a lot at work. We use to take Screen
shots of our programs installed on our computer. In order to be compliant with certain
associations, they ask for screenshots. For example we use Voltage Encryption, so we
open Voltage and place it on the screen where they can see the user info and use the
Snipping Tool. I also love using the Snipping Tool to screen shot only information I
need, then I save it in my files. The other tool I find very helpful is the Screen
Sharing through Skype. Whenever I have an issue with computer, I create a ticket.
Then get on the line with the help desk and share my screen. It is really neat since I
am able to see what they are doing on my screen and later I can help myself. What
I actually found really helpful in the Microsoft Support was the Microsoft 365
Learning and Training, I had no idea this stuff was on here. There is also cheat
sheets and tips to help set up. It has a lot of great information to help you get up
running. The snipping tool for windows is nice to know about. I was once in a
situation where that I was getting sent offensive material from a former boss, and the
only thing that I knew to do was ctrl+ P. This drew attention and I couldn't prove
anything in the end. This would have helped a alot and the tutorials were a big help
in learning how to navigate the program. Microsoft seems to have their support under
control. The article I read and saved was about a person getting incorrect
configuration after the install was complete. It gave the solution and I was even able
to locate a Q&A to further answer questions if I had any about the subject. I used
the Microsoft website to further my understanding of page file.
(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/introduction-page-file) I
didn't realize that memory allocation and redistribution were so important to prevent
crashing and the enhancement of performance. I think that Microsoft is the best site to
use in this situation due to their reputation and experience. It has been a reliable
source of information and support. hope all is well with everyone. This week’s
discussion instructions were better for me as far as understanding the directions listed.
I did not read the instructions not as I did for last weeks questions so that is a start.
Regarding the snipping tool, I am already familiar with that option because I use it
all the time while I am at work but the articles I read were very helpful in
strengthening the knowledge that I already have on using the snipping tool. I was not
able to print out my image after finding out I need a new toner for my printer so
that will give me something to do over the weekend. The articles I found in the
Microsoft support website were very unique which gave me a newfound appreciation
because some of the articles were basically community based questions on a forum
type of platform and other users can chime in and provide feedback. I see those types
of moments as a somewhat of a reach one teach one which only promotes growth
within the community and forum. pagefile.sys file is a windows system files that acts
as swap file and was created to enhance presentation. Windows uses it as RAM in
case the application you are operating on your computer ends up needing more RAM
than you need. Please provide any feedback if you can and have a great day. Using
he Get Help app in Microsoft (windows 10) was simple and easy, it provided a step
by step guide in using the snipping tool. Microsoft support is a very user friendly part
of the Microsoft website in which users and Microsoft technicians can provide help,
as well as a library of articles that can help users get informed on certain issues and
troubleshooting.I believe people consider the Microsoft website the best source because
it is more popular. Many use Microsoft hardware, or software, and just like you
would get help from the genius bar at an apple store, users look to Microsoft support
for assistance. I do think other websites can sometimes offer a different or easier
explanation than the Microsoft website, however I believe that users are more likely to
go to the Microsoft website before visiting others.Other sources are just as useful as
they can come from many areas, the troubleshooting is not always left to the experts
so explain, and some times the average tech users advice is sufficient. another point
to make is that there will always some bias when receiving help from the ones who
are also selling to you. while I have yet to run into a case personally where someone
has tried to sell me something for a resolution to fix a problem, or repair, that is not
always the case. I find that the best help can come from someone who is unbiased
and can speak from experience and knowledge. The first thing I did was open the
Snip and Sketch tool. Although I had never used this tool before I was familiar with
how it works as the system I use for work has a similar tool. With my home system
I normally just do full screenshots but it is always good to be familiar with the
options that are available to you.
I then searched Microsoft Support for information on problems installing Windows 10
and found an article on how to troubleshoot different installing issues.
The last thing I did was search for pagefile.sys file. I think it is good to know how
to use the Microsoft Support option as a source for their known issues and fixes. I
generally tend to use Google more when looking for answers to these types of
questions but I think it would be beneficial for me to utilize this option as well. he
first thing I did was click on the start button to open the menu, then I clicked on
SNIPTOOL. I used SNIPTOOL to take a screenshot of the assignment. Then I saved
the screenshot to my files under School SNIP TOOL. It was found to be saved
automatically under the Pictures Documents, so that is where I searched for it to print
it out and save it to my flash drive. To print the document I simply right-clicked the
icon and clicked print and followed the instructions given by my OS to send it to the
correct printer. To save the Document I opened the Files application again in another
window, plugged in my flash drive and ensured it was connected. Then I used the
drag and drop feature to drop the School SNIP TOOL file onto the flash drive. I then
opened the flash-drives files and ensured the file was saved correctly by clicking on
it. . The times I've taken a screenshot I have used the Windows key + PrtScn key,
and then cropped what I actually needed. I learned to access the snipping tool by
pressing the Windows key+Shift+S. Even though I rarely screenshot, I see how it can
save time and be highly effective when needing or sharing a screenshot of a certain
screen or snips of things your working on that need to be viewed by others or
edited. While checking out the Microsoft Support website, I typed in pagefile.sys and
had to filter the topics to include all to show results for anything related to
pagefile.sys. Once filtered there seems to be more than 50 pages of results that
include pagefile.sys. After clicking on a couple of the links and reading through posts,
I was linked to pagefile.sys. This website gave a good explanation about what
pagefile.sys is and if you should delete it or let Windows manage it. Pagefile.sys is
the Windows paging(or swap) file used to manage virtual memory when your low on
physical memory(RAM).I think people consider the Microsoft Support website the best
source for information on pagefile.sys or any Microsoft product because, it was built
for the end-user of Microsoft products. If I have a problem with any product the first
place I go to for help is the manufactures website. Searching Windows installation
problems will give you many results to look through, so it's important to search for
keywords related to the installation problems your experiencing. From looking at
different posts on the support site a lot of the reply's are from Microsoft Employees,
MVP professionals who are technology experts who've demonstrated a commitment to
helping others, and other's who have had similar problems or questions. Even
searching your question or problem in a search engine links you to the Microsoft
Support website, along with many other 3rd party websites. I can really only assume
that using Microsoft website for information would be the best source. That is where
I would go directly for any Q/A. I personally do not like using Microsoft for
anything. Logically, using a preferred trusted website for any information would be
useful. Since i have been introduced to Microsoft 365, i have leaned how to have a
better understanding for the application and how it operates. I feel that Microsoft has
made a huge change in the right direction, and i see them moving more toward a
merge with google.
