Recent advances in mobile technologies have led to organizations
deploying applications to assist them in their business processes. Apps
like these have enhanced productivity by enabling workers to connect
instantly with vendors, c and by allowing real-time information sharing.
Although mobile apps can give you a lot of benefits, they can also cause
serious security issues. Due to the inherent vulnerabilities of software in
apps, they may be vulnerable to attack just as traditional enterprise
applications are. An attacker can exploit such vulnerabilities to access an
organization's information technology resources or the information of
users. For this discussion, we explore the challenges and risks that web
applications face and the methods organizations use to control them.
Web application risks and challenges can be mitigated by having
security requirements that specify things like how data is secured by an
app, where it will be deployed, and the level of risk that an app should be
at. A process for evaluating an app's security can also ensure compliance
with these requirements. And so, the first challenge web applications
bring is the basic form by which it is constructed in respect to security.
