A couple security risks associated with VPNs are VPN Hijacking and Man-in-the
middle attacks. VPN Hijacking consists of an attacker acquiring control of a client's
VPN connection from either inside or outside the network and portraying to be the
machine of an actual client within the network."Man-in-the-middle attacks are
precisely what the name suggests. These are illegitimate machines intercepting the
data traffic between two authorized machines or nodes with the intention to alter the
data. The data changes typically are in the form of deletion, additions, and or
modification of the data (Gokulakrishnan, 2014). To mitigate"these forms of risk,
companies must implement defense mechanisms at both the software"and hardware
