For this discussion I am choosing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) as I have recently had to do extensive
research on it for a work-related implementation. PaaS provides a service in between IaaS and SaaS,
in this sense PaaS can include operating systems, and development tools and database management
as well as the items normally provided by IaaS (the data center, networking capabilities, and servers
and storage.
With a PaaS access can be modified on a detailed and granular level, much with the case for
Microsoft Azure (as an Admin granting rights to Users). Even with such control over some areas
there is the issue with operability and communication. Existing and newly developed cloud-based
applications will have to take into account the API communication and whether or not it is
