Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) when it was first introduced appeared on the
surface to be a true game changer. However, when businesses and institutions alike
starting moving to this cloud computing model that delivered shared computing
services over the internet it was met with some issues. The main concern of
companies was security and privacy of their data and information. The primary
standard security mechanism to protect a Cloud computing environment is by the
use of Intrusion Detection System (IDS).#
