SSO is a user authentication process in which user sign-in to one
application and it allow multiple applications to unlocked.
Advantages:
It allow multiple application access through one application login process.
Reduce the chance of forgetting password by having 1 master password
to access all applications.
It could help disabilities to type and login in each application which is time
consuming.
It enhances the identity protection in the team.
It reduces the help desk cost and time for calls to reset the password in
case of forgot.
Disadvantages:
If SSO goes down all the connected applications will be gone down.
A good investment and time require to setup the SSO in the organization.
SSO is not good fit for multi user computers.
There could be vulnerabilities like authentication, privacy key etc.
I recommend the SSO in my organization, because we have lot of internal
applications which required the login process. If we will have the SSO
enabled then I can login in to one application and gain access to other
applications which reduce my time and fear of remembering each
password. This SSO will continue to authenticate through the active
directory system. Overall, it reduces the security risks surrounding user
data and streamline the IT management and login process in the
organizations.
