Single Sign-On(SSO) is an authentication system that will allow a user to log in with
one ID and password for multiple applications and software systems. The web-based
applications can be related or independent of each other, but all will use one
username and password to access. The SSO system allows the user to sign in once
per day without having to renter credentials.
According to an identity platform called One Login, SSO would be best for
enterprises, allowing employees 'to log in just one time with one set of credentials to
get access to all corporate apps, websites, and data for which they have
permission." (1)
