Con Group
Hello Pro Group,
In responding to the pro group's statement, I wholeheartedly concur with my colleagues'
opinions. When you said that "everyone deserves the right to live their life on their terms without
the concern of offending anyone," I would like to add something. Sports sector regulations have
not kept pace with societal improvements, thus transgender players should not face persecution. I
recognize why it is asserted, but it is never mentioned that allowing transgender women to play
on women's teams essentially discriminates against cisgender women. The quantity of
testosterone in a biological male does drop with greater testosterone, but it doesn't entirely
remove the levels, thus the transgender woman still has higher sex hormones than a cisgender
woman (McClure, 2021).
I will never claim that cisgender women are not entitled to the exact dignity as
transgender women, but I'm going to defend that they are. "Transgender women deserve this very
same amount of honor and justice as everyone else, but permitting them to participate at a benefit
over cisgender women is unjustified and finally does not reduce inequalities," said one author.
"Transgender women should be able to play in whatever they like, but it turns into a problem
when cisgender women lose places, titles, possible education assistance, and therefore
more."(McClure, 2021). There is an explanation why men and women play sports. One's
capability and function are significantly influenced by the ratio of hormone to androgen. My
contention is that if transgender people were permitted to compete in women ’s sport, the fairness
narrative would be undermined.
