Genetic engineering is the topic I've chosen to explore in the natural sciences. I chose this
topic out of curiosity about the benefits of employing genetic engineering. Genetic engineering
holds great importance, as it plays a crucial role in the development of genetically modified
organisms that can bring immense benefits to humans. These remarkable advancements in
genetic engineering could potentially eradicate numerous terminal illnesses. er the past two
years, we have experienced a devastating pandemic that claimed countless lives as a result of
COVID-19. We are currently facing the ongoing challenge of COVID-19, and there has been an
increase in cases of the respiratory syncytial virus. Imagine eradicating viruses and numerous
other diseases. Imagine the possibilities if scientists had the ability to enhance the human gene
pool. Scientists are proving the feasibility of this; does it raise ethical concerns? Is it ethical to
modify human DNA? There are numerous possibilities to consider. I intend to delve further into
this subject and provide answers to some inquiries.

involved. It explores the topics of human cloning, genetic trait selection, and genetic
modification. It also provides an assessment of the global consensus, highlighting the
policies that countries have implemented in this area.

a conclusive stance on the matter. It prompts the reader to consider the advantages and
disadvantages of each question. Can embryos provide informed consent? Is there a
possibility for this engineering change?=
Scientists are actively debating the boundaries and moral implications of human gene
editing. This source presents the perspective of a scientist involved in modifying DNA
through genetic engineering. They explore the necessary tools for achieving precise gene
editing within living cells. The objective is to eliminate the genetic factors responsible for
severe illnesses. We should encourage more scientists from different fields to explore
heritable gene editing.=
About my target audience and message:!
In order to potentially influence my audience's opinions, I hope to provide them with a
faith-based perspective. We each have our own personal understanding of what is morally right
and wrong in our lives. Some of us prefer to adopt a more evidence-based and rational approach.
I want my audience to easily understand and engage with my issue and question. I am not well-
versed in scientific terminology; I am a beginner. I came across a paper that utilizes descriptive
writing, and I'm seeking assistance in comprehending it. I aim for my audience to perceive my
article as straightforward and logical, regardless of whether they agree with it. I want them to
avert their gaze and cultivate a more receptive attitude towards the viewpoints of others.=
Identify the principles:!
Based on my research, I have identified chemistry and biology as the natural sciences.
My gene modification topic closely connects to these sciences, as altering DNA involves
modifying the genetic material that defines our identity. They play a crucial role in addressing

my question of morality as they shape our identity as a species. Are these principles sufficient to
ensure gene manipulation's safety in the treatment of incurable and devastating diseases? I have a
serious medical condition that impacts my nervous system. If I had the opportunity to change the
course of my life, would it radically change who I am? Is it ethical to allow parents to create an
ideal child in today's world? This topic is currently receiving a lot of attention due to the recent
Supreme Court decision overturning Wade. Where do we, as humans, define the boundary
between manipulation and termination?
