Lean Manufacturing:
After looking through the flowchart that NationaliTeas is presently using, I
was able to spot stages that don't further the ideas of lean manufacturing.
After the second drying, the leaves should be spread out on the scale to be
weighed, sorted on the weight table, and cleaned of any low-quality, small,
or discolored leaves. This will give you the final weight of the tea leaves,
allow the leaves to oxidize, and then move them on to packaging with the
proper weight. Reducing the unnecessary process of weighing several times
permits a stronger focus to be placed on details of greater importance and
raises the final product's quality.
Sustainability:
When separating the leaves, eliminate those that are low-quality,
undersized, oddly shaped, or discolored,7and place the remaining leaves in a
compost pile so that the inedible portions may still be used, although in a
different method. Doing so will prevent landfills from becoming more
polluted. The four phases that, in my opinion, ought to be eliminated are
Poor-quality leaves being removed from trays, the leaves being reweighed,
the leaves going through a second sorting process, and the tea bags being
sealed. Each of the given stages can be combined with the one before it.
Even though there may still be work to be done, by following the previous
step, it may be done in a single, constant stream. The overwhelming level of
packing is increasing landfill garbage and packaging waste. Companies
provide biodegradable, recyclable, and recycled pouches, bags, and labels as
well as other sustainable eco-friendly packaging options.
Process Changes:
Removing and changing the stages from the process flowchart discussed in
the previous bullet points has both advantages and disadvantages.
NationaliTeas may expect to witness a decrease in waste and duplication of
effort, which will result in a more term as result and help us to provide a
greater product. By eliminating the plastic wrapping, you run the danger of
the food losing taste or absorbing moisture from the air.
Log Issues:
Making multiple broad bewilderment about their amount of influence,
participation, and the timing of significant project milestones. Rebranding
initiatives should be more concentrated on the packaging that appeals to
environmentally conscious customers. The purchasing division wants to
increase the project budget by three times in order to provide additional
funding for market research, product testing, and the hunt for new bioplastic
material suppliers. The Chief Operations Officer should be there as well, as
this is a budgetary issue.
Operations Management Techniques:
Project management and lean manufacturing are examples of operational
strategies that bring value to NationaliTeas by serving as a mechanism for
an audit system. By developing a project management system, you're able
to keep work and goals structured, provide a plan to completion, enhance
team effectiveness, and resolve conflicts in a way that reduces confusion,
boosts productivity, and harmonizes communication.
