IBM is based out of Armonk, New York. They have several examples of outsourcing with
various countries. For example, IBM formed an information solution in the UK in 19991
and in 1993 they were awarded a contract with Brazil and started a company in Japan
(IBM 2002). IBM’s revenue for services reached $17 billion. The outsourcing in those
years later resulted in a “total commercial contract value of $40 billion since the business
was launched in 1991” (IBM 2002). This outsourcing was great for the corporation profit
line, but it increased the customer base. So, this was beneficial for everyone involved.
