magazines, reports, and newspapers for research purposes. This article, written by Thomas E.
DeWolfe, provides an overview of Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development. Jean Piaget’s
theory is the most comprehensive and influential theory of cognitive development in the 20
th
century. Piaget’s theory of cognitive development is absolutely related to the concepts and theory
of this course. This course, Adolescent Development, studies the cognitive development of
children through adulthood making Piaget’s theory a vital piece in our studies on the brain and
cognitive development (DeWolfe, T. E., 2018).

references coming from Barrouillet, Pierre, and Vinciane Gaillard in their article, Cognitive
Development and Working Memory: A Dialogue Between Neo-Piagetian and Cognitive
