5-1 Discussion: Temple Grandin's Experience With Autism
I felt that the video, My Experience with Autism was very intriguing. Although there were many things
that I kind of already had an idea of, there was still much that I learned from it and in greater detail. It
was also neat hearing from the perspective of someone who has autism. With most of the information
detailed in the video, I was able to relate it to the different children in my classroom as there is so much
variability of the autism spectrum. The information about distinguishing between bad behavior and
actual sensory issues will be vital to me in the classroom. I was unaware of the difference between
echolalia and scripting and now know that scripting is often described as a delay echolalia. I also was
