acceptance. The phases of grieving don't follow a set order, which can sound unusual, but that's
because they happened randomly. According to the scenario, Jackie divorced her spouse because
she believed it was vital to live the remaining portion of her life in peace and because of her
religious convictions. She acknowledges that the choice "substantially increased her feeling of
life pleasure." This seems to me that she is at least somewhat content despite her prognosis. She
took it upon herself to create a satisfying atmosphere after accepting her diagnosis. Depression
began to set in as her disease worsened and her physical capabilities decreased. She struggles
with losing her freedom and begins to feel guilty about not having made a bigger contribution to
society. Grief experienced over recent losses and potential losses contributes to despair.
