Why are you in school?
I am in school to advance my existing skills and interests as an artist, photographer, and
honestly a passionate student. I enjoy learning new skills, as they give me a sense of
accomplishment and will be able to use my photography degree to support my career goals as
an independent photographer and technical illustrator.
What are your strengths?
My strengths are in communication, creativity, and flexibility. I take all viewpoints into
consideration when I am communicating with others which allows me to empathize,
understand, and adapt to others. I also enjoy thinking out of the box and being creative which
gives me a unique outlook on most things.
How do you learn best?
I learn best when I can be active in my learning. This requires for me to be able to share and
bounce my ideas off of others, practice the skills that I am learning as I am learning them, and
to have more visual representations of the things that I am looking at (as an illustrator, artist,
and photographer I suppose this makes enough fair sense).
What are your skills?
Some of my skills are being very detail-oriented – nothing goes unnoticed – which applies to
both my personal and professional life. Also, I work well with others, whether it be a small
group or large team, which can be attributed to my communication skills.
What skills do you want to improve upon or learn?
I want to improve my internal drive, or my intrinsic self-motivation, as well as being more
goal oriented.
What are your interests and hobbies?
My interests include casual hiking and exploring, photography, and creating art. I enjoy art in
many forms including (but not limited to) drawing, painting, wood burning, and more.
What problems would you like to address in the world?
Most problems in the world feel too big to address or possibly over-addressed by the public,
but the issues that are near and dear to my heart would be social injustices in the LGBTQ
community, and neurodiversity inclusion/acceptance. Many of my family members and
friends have been heavily impacted by the negative stigma placed onto these groups, and I do
whatever I can to make sure they are comfortable everywhere they go if I can help it. I wish to
educate more people on the strengths and benefits to society that these groups add to the world.
Where do you envision yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself comfortable. I hope to still be working with my current company
(I’ve been with them for a little over 5 years, so another 5 would be wonderful), but in addition
I would have my own side business selling my art in a steady comfortable capacity from my
home. Although I would like to work on my extraversion, I still hope to be able to set up most
of my successes from home where I am most comfortable to do my best work.
Which of the programmatic course themes is most relevant to your career or goals for personal
growth?
Self-care
Social justice
Emotional intelligence
Career connections
Ethics
Emotional intelligence is easily the most relevant programmatic course theme that relates to
my goals for personal growth. I have become more aware of some of the downfalls and
weaknesses I have created for myself or been handed down through genetics. Becoming more
aware of those weaknesses has driven me to change my outlook and set more goals for myself
that will give me a sense of pride and purpose in contrast to those that just give me instant
gratification. Hopefully, this gained intelligence will eventually have a better effect on my
communication and relationships with others. I have cut myself off from most of society due
to my anxieties and lack of drive, but becoming more emotionally aware of what I need in my
life is a game changer and a goal shifter. c
Enjoy this fun little Picasso quote I chose to represent me. It is me: loves to learn rules and
skills, but the need to add my own flare to it all is unavoidable. I need to find a creative way of
doing what everyone else does on the norm or else, what is the fun in it? Maybe it is just the
artist in me, but a little creativity can go a long way!
I had initially thought about school for years, always changing my mind on what I wanted my
major to be. I was going through a difficult time at my job and finally came to the decision that
I needed to eventually get out of the service industry. I quite literally enrolled in school on a
whim, no regrets. c
If I were to ask someone what my strengths were, I believe they would say I am dedicated and
determined.
I learn best by doing or rather, hands on learning. c
I would like to think I have good writing and editing skills.
The biggest and most important thing to me that I’d like to grow is communication skills. c
My hobbies and interests are: plants, bugs, weed, staying in bed on a rainy day, getting
tattooed, yoga and weightlifting (although I have fallen off since taking my latest promotion)
love to eat because fat kid forever, I have got a major addiction to my phone, (work in
progress) oh and, hot everything showers.
Why are you in school?
I am in school to get a bachelor's degree in project management to help further my career. I
feel like I have hit a plateau in my career and would like to take the necessary steps to advance
along my career path in the construction industry.
What are your strengths?
I am a fast learner, an excellent planner, and a problem solver. I can process issues quickly and
adjust accordingly to fix or come up with solutions to keep activities moving forward.
How do you learn best?
Learn best from trial and error. I always like to try things on my own, with or without
instructions, and find ways to improve processes.
What are your skills?
I have good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and I am very organized. I always
like to have things organized, as I find it easier to deal with problems when they arise.
What skills do you want to improve upon or learn?
I want to improve my communication skills. I have no problem conversing with people and
communicating what is needed. The area I would like to improve is that sometimes I am
misunderstood or do not use the right words to express what I would like.
What are your interests and hobbies?
Right now, my interests and hobbies revolve around raising my kids. Besides, I enjoy doing
projects around the house, reading, listening to music, and eating food. I like to try all types of
different foods and regularly venture out to try different restaurants.
What problems would you like to address in the world?
I want to do my part to try and help many of our environmental situations. Carbon emissions,
pollution, and preserving our wildlife are some of the things I would like to help change in our
world.
Where do you envision yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself in a new career path, healthy, and a larger home for my family. Once
I finish my schooling, I plan on getting hired and settled in a new position for work while also
buying a larger home with a nice piece of property for my family to enjoy.

Emotional intelligence is the course theme most relevant to my career and personal growth. EI
is beneficial in many aspects of life. EI can help you grow personally while also helping you
have an impact on others around you. EI can be an effective skill in your personal life and
valuable throughout your career, especially for someone in a leadership position.
I chose an image of my kids because they are what drive me to become a better person and not
give up on my life goals. They give me the motivation to want to be successful and provide for
them as best as I can. Even when I want to give up, I know I cannot because their livelihood
depends on me.
I am excited and a bit sad. This is my last discussion post for this class. I will reintroduce
myself in the discussion and give you insight about me. I am Taneesha I am a 33-year-old
mother to 1. I am a psychology major, and I am planning on becoming a Board-Certified
Advisor for youth. There are many titles that this position holds but this sums it all up. I am
very eager to reach out to others and discover their behaviors and the reason for their actions as
well as helping to influence youth to be the best they can be and understand they have
someone in their corner to push them along the way. I am focused on becoming very open to
this career choice because not every child and scenario will always be great. I also understand
their will be trials and tribulations. I am just excited to go further, and this is the reason I am in
school. My strengths are public relations and that is because I love talking to others and getting
to know people and understanding people's point of view. I also have a strength in
compassion, and I care solely about improving the negative and making it positive. My skills
are very simple, and I am very grateful that I can be available when needed, I am devoted, and
I believe in handling the tasks set before me to feel complete. I am competitive and
compassionate. I also have skills in outreach, and I love to analyse and data process. I am also
great with public speaking. I would love to improve in being more on time and able to
schedule better without causing a work overload. That is my main problem, I feel as if I can
tackle any matter and not think about the scheduling I have available. My interests and hobbies
are crafting, and I love to read, write, and research. I enjoy having family gatherings and
cooking. I love making do it yourself projects with my daughter as well as cleaning. I find it so
peaceful to take time out and just clean to clear my mind. The problems that I like to address in
the world is self-care and show compassion. A kind word and a hug can change a person and
their train of thought. In 5 years, I envision myself working in my field of study, being a
homeowner and a spokesperson for parents with children fighting leukemia. Emotional
Intelligence is the programmatic course theme that best suites my choice for career and my
goals that I have set before me. I feel being attached and in tune with emotion will help me

Which of the programmatic course themes is most relevant to your career or goals for personal
growth?
Self-care
Social justice
Emotional intelligence
Career connections
Ethics
Self-care is most relevant to my goals for personal growth. Most of my goals are linked to
finding myself and learning to love my life. c Self-care relates to this because when I take time
to care for myself, I am showing myself how I love myself.
The picture I chose is a picture of me at work posing in front of a large amount of heavy cream
that spilled on the ground. c The picture is from a few years ago but I still remember that day. c It
was a day we had a few call-outs and it was getting busy. While trying to get drinks out
quickly, I accidentally knocked over a bottle of heavy cream inside the fridge as I closed the
door. I did not notice the spill until it started leaking out from the bottom of the fridge door.
Instead of getting upset over the inconvenient spill, I made a joke about how I repainted the
inside of the fridge. My coworker laughed and when she went to take a photo of the spill, I
quickly posed and said "don't cry over spilled milk." This made everyone laugh and I even
ended up making this photo into magnets for a few coworkers. This picture and story
represent how I always try to be optimistic and aim to cheer up people during stressful times. I
am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine.
