Self-care is most relevant to my goals for personal growth. Most of my goals are linked
to finding myself and learning to love my life. b Self-care relates to this because when I
take time to care for myself, I am showing myself how I love myself.
The picture I chose is a picture of me at work posing in front of a large amount of
heavy cream that spilled on the ground. b The picture is from a few years ago but I still
remember that day. It was a day we had a few call-outs and it was getting really busy.
While trying to get drinks out quickly, I accidentally knocked over a bottle of heavy
cream inside the fridge as I closed the door. I didn't notice the spill until it started
leaking out from the bottom of the fridge door. Instead of getting upset over the
inconvenient spill, I made a joke about how I repainted the inside of the fridge. My
coworker laughed and when she went to take a photo of the spill, I quickly posed and
said "don't cry over spilled milk." This made everyone laugh and I even ended up
making this photo into magnets for a few coworkers. This picture and story represents
how I always try to be optimistic and aim to cheer up people during stressful times. I
am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine.
