a It takes some intelligence to fool people into believing something,
but there are different kinds of intelligence. It is impressive and
intelligent that a computer could fool someone into thinking they are
talking to a real person, but they will never measure up to true human
interaction. It is a dangerous idea to measure intelligence by the
Turing test. Because it discredits the amount of knowledge people
gain from real world experience from living life.
a Computers have a better ability to store memory of facts and book
knowledge, but they lack in areas where people excel, such as
emotional intelligence. A computer does not have the ability to have
empathy or intuition the way we do (Gendler, A., 2016) . But I know
that a computer can remember things much better than I can! Maybe
just not about how I was feeling when someone called me ugly in
elementary school. Our experiences shape our personalities and
character, whereas computer do not have the same capability. We do
have similarities in how we store memory because people have
programmed computers that way. Computers are more intelligent
than most people in many ways, but not in what makes us special as
humans.
