Subject: Ten year plan memo.
A. There are two things that are notably wrong with this strategy. For
both it is because it is not specific enough. For example it discusses cutting
costs wherever necessary, where it should say the departments where it
can save in order to prioritise profitable operations. The second is that it
discusses that it currently has a competitive advantage, but it does not
discuss how it will keep it and grow it for the future. c (The Saylor
Foundation. (2014))
B. Something done very well was the range of the plan. It has a long term
goal of continuing the business at least for the next 10 years. But the scale
and or goal for the business 10 years down the line is not specified. (The
Saylor Foundation. (2014))
C. For businesses to be successful it is in their best interest to regularly
reevaluate its competitive advantage to see where it can do better, and if
there is value in aspects of the job that mean more than others such as
quality of service offered. (Goldsmith,2013)
D. As written previously one thing that could be done to improve this
strategy is specifying specific goals and including parameters and or the
order of importance. Also setting specific goals both for short term and long
term, including order of what should be cut in the current time of recession
and what is needed to survive and build back later. There is no specified
plan. (YouTube. (2017))
