Baby Boomers- Black and white TV was just starting to come out and the appeal was that it
was one of the newest technologies of the time. While cars with radio were becoming more
popular during this time it was also a progressive innovation. (CFI, n.d).
Millennials- TV appeal was that households typically had more than one and were more
compatible with gaming and VHS. While the appeal for radio was that more stations were
coming out, but CDs were becoming more popular to listen to in cars.
Generation X- Color TV started to come out and become more popular. Radio was now fully
in automobiles.
Generation Y- TV appeal was that households typically had more than one and were starting
to become compatible with other devices. While the appeal for radio was that more stations
were coming out and was more portable.
Generation Z- The appeal for TV is more for streaming services rather than live but they
started to be able to connect to the internet. Radio has advanced into many different stations
for each genres of music but music downloading seem to be more popular.
One creative approach for marketing that influenced primarily my siblings and I annoying
our parents into taking us was the TV advertisements to Six Flags. They would always have
the commercials playing on kid friendly networks such as Disney Channel, Nickelodeon,
and Cartoon Network to target their children/teen audience. The way the rides looked, and
all the fun other kids were having really piqued our interest until eventually our parents
agreed to take us…though as an 8-10 year old I was a little sad that the bald guy wasn’t
dancing around the park.
My “top” idea for marketing the amusement park through consumer research is by having
focus groups that allow individuals to share their feedback with one another on how they
perceive the brand. My “top” idea for marketing through SEO is by creating a list of topics
and create keywords based on those topics that can bring more people to look at what the
park has to offer them (Fortin, 2022).
