Brand means to me something more than just buying something. It
goes deeper than just a typical buy at a store, it could be a lifestyle
impact or something you follow and buy because of their impacts on
society. A brand goes beyond just their products in my mind, they
deliver impacts into others lives. Brands can impact my spending
decisions based on what they may or may not do. If they do
something I like, I might be more influenced to buy what they are
selling and vice versa.
My favorite brand is Apple, this is because they make technology
cool. I believe phones were more of tools before Apple got involved
in them, now phones, tablets and laptops are a status symbol. Who
and what you have might be a sort of status in your community.
Those who own Apple products might be deemed to have higher
status since they are more expensive. They made technology cool
along with becoming a luxury type brand. The brand makes their
products cool and seem luxurious, which is what makes me want to
buy them so I can keep some sort of status amongst others. Apple's
brand promise is the security for their clients information. They take
selling your information and keeping your information secretly, very
seriously. They do not want to dip in an age where buying technology
sometimes leads to you and your information being exposed. Apple
wants to stay ahead here and be upfront with the consumer and let
them know their information is safe as long as you are using an Apple
product. I have an emotional connection to the brand because i
believe it keeps my status up everytime i buy a new product from
Apple. When considering my new laptop purchase back in December,
Apple was the only company on my mind. I know they build
computers better than anyone else out on the market and again,
owning an Apple laptop is more or less of a status symbol because
people know how expensive they can get.
