5.2 Report Mills 2
Introduction
In assessing TransGlobal’s performance, I will identify and evaluate potential risks that
the organization might encounter to gain a clearer understanding of its business environment. I
will also pinpoint two specific risks, one of which will be a high-impact risk, and categorize
them as either operational or strategic. Assess the likelihood and potential impact of each risk,
rating them as low, medium, or high, and finally, suggest possible strategies for mitigating each
identified risk.
Identification
One potential risk within the organization could be the reintroduction and promotion of
the MAX 737 aircraft, which aligns with the financial aspect of the balanced scorecard and cate-
gorize as an operational risk. Another potential risk for TransGlobal could be upgrading the
reservation and ticketing experience, which relates to the learning and growth part of the bal-
anced scorecard and classify as a strategic risk.
Evaluation
Reintroducing and promoting the MAX 737 aircraft is a high-risk endeavor due to its pre-
vious grounding over safety concerns, which significantly impacted the global aviation sector.
The high-risk classification stems from the aircraft's history of issues, and we would need to en-
sure that all necessary changes are implemented to prevent any new concerns or risks for cus-
tomers who may use this aircraft when successfully reintroduced.
On the other hand, upgrading the reservation and ticketing experience for our customers
is a low-risk initiative. Customers are more inclined to choose an airline that offers convenient
online services, such as a comprehensive and user-friendly portal for reservations and ticketing.
Enhancing this portal to meet all their potential needs during their travel journey would posi-

tively impact their overall experience with the airline. Additionally, integrating the portal with
other apps related to lodging, ground transportation, and attractions would further enhance their
experience with TransGlobal.
Mitigation
To mitigate the risks associated with reintroducing the MAX 737 aircraft, the R&D team
should conduct a thorough investigation into the past issues and concerns related to the aircraft
and develop the most effective solutions before reintroducing it. This idea involves implement-
ing the necessary changes to ensure the safety of passengers and restore confidence in both the
aviation sector and among customers.
To upgrade the reservation and ticketing experience, a key mitigation strategy will in-
volve a comprehensive technology assessment. It’s crucial to ensure that the IT department has
all the necessary resources to identify the requirements for developing a more advanced and
user-friendly customer portal. Additionally, the marketing department must effectively promote
the updated app and its new features to customers.
