The proper communication relating to the adaptive leadership
toolkit to the organization’s leader is essential to help gain buy-
in. A systematic communication process is critical, which would
focus on the exact message being communicated, the proper
encoding of the message, etc. In addition, it is necessary to
make the leaders understand the need for adaptive leadership
in the organizational setting and how it could create value for
the personnel and the entire company. The concept of adaptive
leadership is unique as it emphasizes mobilizing people to
tackle challenging situations and thrive in a dynamic
environment (Heifetz et al., 2009).
While communicating about the adaptive leadership toolkit, the
focus must be given to how it could help to improve the satisfaction
level of the employees. Additionally, some of the major highlights of
the leadership approach must be discussed, such as encouraging the
employees by rewarding them for their efforts, the establishment of
trust-based relationships, etc. By increasing the knowledge about the
adaptive leadership toolkit and how it could motivate the employees,
it would be possible to gain the buy-in of the organizational leaders.
In order to make sure that the communication strategy is
sustainable, long-term, i.e., more than two years, it is necessary
to design a consistent and effective communication plan which
would highlight the benefits of the adaptive leadership toolkit.
A diverse range of communication mediums could be used in
the organizational setting, such as formal and informal
meetings, discussion in events, memos, emails, etc., so that the
importance of adaptive leadership toolkit could be understood
(Frandsen & Johansen, 2017). Furthermore, by ensuring that
communication is done on a frequent basis throughout the
organizational setting, the leaders must be informed about how
it could add value to the organization and empower the
organizational personnel to deal with the challenges that could
arise in their path. Researchers Frandsen and Johansen have
argued that while working on the sustainable and long-term
communication approach, it is necessary to focus not only on
the transmission and interaction aspects of communication but
also on the concept of the meaning that is being delivered to an
audience. It could boost the long-term nature and sustainable
aspect of the communication strategy.
