I have a hard time differentiating the various roles in the technology
fields because there is so much overlap. It seems like employers also
have a hard time with various roles because they assume that if you
are a computer person you know how to do all-things-computer...at
least that has been my experience working for smaller companies.
My degree program is not in IT however I feel I would be well suited
for careers in cybersecurity, digital forensics or software developing
because I am a very analytical person and I enjoy solving puzzles, or
possibly a Computer and Information Research Scientist because
coming up with new cool ideas and technology would be fun. All of
the above careers are very analytical, they require innovation and
investigative skills which is pretty much me in a nutshell. Haha.

They install software and the necessary security measures to keep
company data safe. Cybersecurity professionals also spend a great
deal of time doing pen. tests to try to find areas of weakness so they
can be repaired. That all sounds fun to me and to top it all off, they
make over $100k a year. Similarly, persons who work in digital
forensics do similar type tasks by using technology to find and help
