Topic 1: Clinical Information System
The clinical information system has created many valuable
opportunities and improvements to patient care and the data
management sector in the healthcare system. The primary function
of CISs is to collect, store, analyze, and communicate information to
clinical decision-makers in a fast and accurate manner. Clinical
information systems aim to reduce clinical errors tremendously in
medications and diagnostics. Another benefit of CIS is that it has the
ability to communicate with other hospital subsystems, such as
pharmacies, various labs, radiology, and other image processing
storage solutions. It can help healthcare workers by providing up-to-
date information to treat their patients with complete care (Islam,
2018).

Topic 2: Technology Diffusion
When it comes to technology diffusion, I would say the most
important area where we have to focus is safety. According to the
ECRI Institute's Top 10 Patient Safety Concerns for 2019, diagnostic
mistakes and incorrect management of test data in electronic health
records (EHRs) are the most critical patient safety concerns
confronting healthcare executives for the second year in a row
(Rosenfeld, 2019). A safety risk can be caused by a lack of training,
miscommunication, or missing test results. However, if used properly
by communicating well with the providers and getting proper
training, the technology systems can be the most valuable thing a
healthcare worker can get. It can reduce many medical errors and is
much easier to access the medical information needed to provide
better and faster treatment to patients.
