In this project, the Venice Family Clinic has been selected as the healthcare organization with
an aim to reach the final project capital budget proposal. This project has given the focus on the
finances and mission of the organization as well as highlighted the connection between the
organization and the healthcare trends. Moreover, the research has given the emphasis on the
opportunities and challenges that are present in the healthcare organization. At last, it has thrown
light on the potential implications for the mission of the organization.
• Department section
In the Venice Family Clinic healthcare organization, the researcher has selected the dental care
department that has a clinical function. In the dental care department, many primary care activities
can be conducted, which can also include managing hypertension, screening diabetics, and many
more (Gambhir, 2015). Venice Family Clinic has aimed to provide better dental care to people, and
it should be accessible for all. Presently, the dental care department is offering services including
cleaning, x-rays, exams, filling, and root canals. In this department, the professional physicians do
medical visits to screen children and their parents by following a routine, referring the patients to
partner agencies or dental team’s doe better care treatment, and performing fluoride varnishes on
children. Apart from these, this department is organizing a teledentistry program in 16 schools
across Los Angeles to do the dental screening (Comprehensive health care. Venice Family Clinic,
2021), The annual report of the healthcare organization shows that nearly 25,089 people have
received the healthcare at the comprehensive level. Among these, nearly 6,117 people came for
dental visits.
• Organization’s financial condition

While doing a close analysis of historical budgetary information, the researcher has identified
that this organization is the largest non-profit community health center. After giving lots of effort
and time to review the annual report of Venice Family Clinic 2021, the researcher has gained some
understanding by consolidating the financial statement (Venice Family Clinic, 2021). Here, it has
been evident that the total financial expenses fall to $37,636,904. The expenses for children
program amounted to $6,524,430, for common ground amounted to $1,842,196, for education and
outreach amounted to $2,232, 926, for fundraising amounted to $2,877,537, for management and
general amounted to $7,048,222 and for in-kind amounted to $7,304,138 (Venice Family Clinic,
2021). Here, it can be identified that the income of the healthcare organization has decreased within
years. Also, the minimal changes have been evident in the expenses of the Venice Family Clinic,
but it has shown a decrease during the same time period.

The present healthcare trends can impact the organization in a positive and negative way. The
Venice Family Clinics has the philosophy and mission to promote community development and
optimize the quality of life by facilitating leadership training, strengthening families, individuals,
and communities, and involving patients in program design, evaluation, and delivery. In order to
provide optimal care, it is essential for Venice Family Clinics to implement new and advanced
healthcare technology in the healthcare organization (Bigus et al., 2011). It is important to adapt
these technological advanced in the Venice Family Clinics as it is going on in the healthcare trend
and predicted to flourish in the upcoming years. Here, the Venice Family Clinic’s board members
should understand the value of the technology to enhance patient safety, provide more direct care
time, retain nurses, justify costs, and support the strategic plan. They should understand the future
of the healthcare sector and technology that can fulfill the needs of the community and worth the
cost. Recently, eConsult has been implemented by Venice Family Clinics, enabling professional
physicians to consult their patients remotely. Here, the patient can access the appointment of the
specialists and get the specialty care.
Cybersecurity can be another trend in the healthcare sector. The risk of security breaches has
been evident with all the computerizations and new telehealth innovations. However, it becomes
essential to protect sensitive health data and information by monitoring the vigilant, frequent
password changes and low infiltration risk. Regardless, cybersecurity is an expensive and
complicated operation, so the threat will be present, but engaging tech professionals can be helpful
in preventing data breaches and protecting the privacy of the patient (Bigus et al., 2011).

• Opportunities and challenges
The healthcare trends can bring both challenges and opportunities for the healthcare
organization. Cybersecurity has brought more opportunities for the healthcare organization with
new telehealth innovations and computerization, but it has also brought challenges for the
healthcare organization as cybersecurity consists of treats to the information of the healthcare
sector.
On the other hand, the healthcare trend like advanced healthcare technology in the healthcare
organization has bought more opportunities for the organization as the patient can get access to
consult with the physician without any restriction over the region. On the contrary, it has brought
some challenges for the healthcare organization as it requires regular maintenance and high
expense.
• Potential Implications for the Mission
Venice Family Clinic (VFC) has the philosophy and mission to offer quality primary healthcare
to uninsured, low-income, homeless individuals and families. Here, this healthcare organization
needs to focus on offering better healthcare services based on the increasing demand for free
healthcare systems.
