Commonality
The Chapter 4 Analysis Data Set has provided some of the important data that
includes the top 10 states and their average length of stay, which is nearly 8-6 days. After
reviewing the data, one commonality has been found that there are some of the states that
show the result below the top 10 average lengths of stay. This result differs with 6-4 days.
Here, it has been assumed that the cost of patient care is growing higher because of the
longer average length of stay in the top 10 states.

The statistical process control (SPC) is considered to be one of the effective tools
that determine when possibly correction and investigation should occur, what quality will
occur, and how performance is measured. In other words, this tool is a scientific and data-
driven methodology that is used for controlling, monitoring, and improving the products and
procedures (Øvretveit, 2000). The provided data for the activity relating to statistical process
tools can be better used to determine the issues relating to the length of stay as well as
address organization performance. However, the reason behind the longer average lengths of
stay can be evaluated better with the use of a statistical process tool. Moreover, the SPC
tools can be utilized to develop an action plan that can decrease the length of average staying
at the hospital. When the action plan is well-developed and ready to be implemented, then
the effectiveness can be better evaluated by utilizing the statistical process control.
Solving Organizational Problem
The statistical process control tool and text process analysis tools give more
emphasis to determining the issues or problem and their effects on the output as well as
effective changes in the systems (Øvretveit, 2000). The analytical tool can be utilized to
identify the changes whether it has created an improvement or not. This will be possible
when the issue has been "corrected."
The lack of proper commination in healthcare settings can be solved with the
utilization of the analytical tool. While solving the writer's organizational issues, Chi-square
analytical tool can be used in a better way in this activity. This type of analysis is used
extensively to identify the statistical relationship between two categorical variables. In
general, the Chi-Square tool can be utilized to determine the potential causes and problems
as well as to determine the effectiveness of the interventions (Øvretveit, 2000). This process
