Now that you are almost done with this course, it is time to reflect on all
that you have covered in it. It may not be possible to retain every little detail
about the pathophysiology of all diseases and the way to treat them.
However, you should have a greater understanding and comprehension of
diseases, processes, main signs and symptoms, all diagnostic procedures
used to be certain about diagnoses, and the main pharmacological groups or
classifications according to the actual actions of drugs in the body.
You started this course by defining the concept of health. You studied the
most common unhealthy conditions. Now, you should be ready to perfectly
define what a disease is and how it can be diagnosed and treated.
As mentioned in previous modules, the content of this course is crucial for
health information specialists. It is not just a matter of reading medical
comments from a patient’s chart and copying and pasting them into a
template, and it is not just a matter of handling patients’ information safely.
You should understand the medical principles behind the name of a sign, a
symptom, or the name of a particular disease. Why do they happen? How
do they happen? How can they be properly treated according to the
pathophysiological changes?
It is the hope that, now that you are almost done with this course, you have
incorporated everything you need to be a reliable and highly efficient health
information professional.
