In the journal paper, I have critically reflected on the overall experience that I have
gained during the course. I got an opportunity to expand my comprehension and insight into
‘depression,’ which is a common mental health condition impacting millions of people
globally. I have reflected on a diverse range of aspects, including the audience, feedback,
research, and elements.
Audience - The audience group that I identified during Module Two was adult individuals
suffering from depression. These individuals have the potential to bring about necessary
changes by focusing on behavioral and lifestyle aspects like eating healthy, exercising
regularly, engaging in mental exercising, and getting adequate sleep (Piotrowski et al., 2021).
Feedback – I got insightful feedback throughout the course. The feedback was related to
adopting a broad insight while exploring the mental health condition. After receiving the
feedback, I was able to focus on diverse determinants of health that might impact the mental
health condition of individuals. Initially, I was mainly focusing on micro factors, but later I
realized that macro elements such as stigma associated with depression could also play an
integral role and influence its level of complexity (Stigma, Prejudice and Discrimination
Against People with Mental Illness. Stigma and discrimination, 2020). e
Research – A comprehensive research process has been conducted to explore diverse
dimensions of depression among adults. However, due to the vastness of the topic, additional
research could also be carried out. For example, there is an opportunity to explore how
unhealthy behavior like substance abuse, alcohol addiction, etc. can intensify the mental
health condition in adults. e
Elements – After reviewing the ‘Final Project Guidelines and Rubric’ document, it can be
stated that all the requirements were fulfilled. An integrated analysis of adult depression was

carried out, and various elements were captured, such as the prevalence of the health issue,
symptoms, the shift in trend, potential causes, preventive measures, etc. The rationale was to
comprehensively analyze the health problem so that suitable interventions could be
introduced.
