Continuing from last weeks discussion, the topic of environmental
health through a social sciences lens does well to explain the
correlations between environmental health and the effects on social
structures and a community.
We do not often think about the relationship and effect that
environmental health has within a community. The social sciences lens
also helps when “investigating environmental health crises, exposures,
contamination and disaster”(Matz et al., 2016). This also includes social
dynamics between illnesses, exposure and pollution in a community.
In learning about this topic through the social sciences lens, I have
learned just how connected environmental health and wellness is to the
community and the social effects when encountering widespread
health issues.
